Why EGO?

1) Power Beyond Belief: EGO’s slogan is “Power Beyond Belief” and it is true that many customers of ours do not believe the power that these EGO products have. They actually do perform like gas products! Two examples I like to show are the EGO Lawn Mower mowing through a field and the string trimmer trimming tall weeds in our creek. These two videos were our family using these products.

2) Incredible Reviews: Listen to this… 4.6 Star average over 17,561 reviews on the LM2135SP Lawn mower. 4.7 Star average review from 15,074 customers on the LB5302 Leaf Blower. 4.6 Star from 12,318 reviews on the ST1521S String trimmer! Find me another brand that has that good of an average review with that many people across their whole battery platform of products. I encourage my customers to go look up the reviews on any EGO product because it speaks volumes. People are amazed at the quality and performance of EGO products. 3) EGO Sales Promotions: Often throughout the year EGO will runs some very budget friendly sales promotions.

4) EGO Product Family: One of the best things about the EGO brand is that all EGO batteries can power all EGO tools. To my knowledge, they have not changed their battery platform nor will they likely change it at least for a long long time. So for example the leaf blower battery can fit in the snow blower and mini bike and vice versa. EGO has over 125 different sku's and about 15 unique product categories specializing in outdoor power equipment. This year they really did a great job offering many new products to the family including the riding tractor, mini bike, pressure washer, shop vac and auger.

4) Personal Experience: We have a family business here at Stoller Lawn and Garden. Our family has personally purchased many of the EGO products for ourselves because we know how handy of a product they are. My Dad and Mom have the Lawnmower, String Trimmer, Hedge Trimmer and Leaf Blower. My oldest brother has the EGO blower. My second oldest brother has a lawn care and has over 5 EGO battery products for his landscaping company. My third oldest brother owns the string trimmer and leaf blower. My sister owns the string trimmer. And Ken’s youngest son has the SP lawn mower, Powerhead and trimmer attachment, chainsaw and leaf blower. That says a lot when we have all purchased at least one EGO item for our personal use.

5) Warranty: 5 Year warranty on the tool and 3 Year warranty on the battery and charger. That give peace of mind that these products are built to last.

So now, more details on...

Why Battery Products?

1) Easy to Start: One of the biggest reason I believe battery outdoor power equipment has taken off so rapidly is just how easy it is to start and how simple they are to operate in comparison to gas powered products. Simply slide the charged battery into the desired product, push a button or two and in seconds you can be hard at work. Also, either gender at almost any age can start it with ease which is not true with a gas unit.

1) Challenging to Start: On a petrol unit, let's take a 2 cycle product for example, first make sure it has mixed fuel in it. If you don't have fuel, you'll need to go to your local gas station and get some recreational, non ethanol gas (because the regular gas is no cheap nowadays with all the ethanol they put in it that it will probably gum up your carburetor and cause your unit to not run right if it sits more than a month without being used). Once you get your gas, you'll need to go to your local small engine dealer to get some good quality 2-cycle oil making sure you get the right size bottle for your gas can. Now dump in the oil with the gas in the can and shake and shake and shake until it is thoroughly mixed. (Another expensive, but more convenient option, is buying the non ethanol gas premixed with the oil in a can, which is generally at least $25 per gallon.) Fill the unit with petrol. Next we will find the purge (primer) bulb and push it about 5 times. Then find the choke and turn it on. We are now ready to start the unit. With effort, pull the rope fast. Most likely, even on a new unit, you'll need to pull it 3-5 times before it will actually start. It can also be tricky not to flood it if you have the choke on too long. Once if floods it can be a nightmare to get it to start. If you happen to have success in starting the unit you'll generally need to let it warm up for a few seconds (or minutes) before using it under load.

2) Little or No MaintenanceSomething special about most battery products is that they have very little or no service that needs done to it at all. Just make sure the battery is charged and your all set! We recommend storing the battery and charger in a regulated temperature of somewhere between 50°F and 80°F. Products such as the lawn mower will need the blade sharpened every once in awhile. We also recommend keeping the products clean so debris doesn't build up on them overtime and cause them to overheat.

2) Maintenance RequiredGas engine will need maintenance even if there isn't a problem and it's just preventative like air and fuel filters and sparkplugs. Parts can be expensive and time is valuable. If you have a service center do it for you they may charge you around $100 per hour for labor plus the parts. Also, parts wear out over time such as starter rope, fuel lines etc. And unless you make sure to always use fresh fuel and drain the gas for the winter storage, you'll probably need the carb cleaned at some point in it's life.

3) Quiet Operation: Another great benefit is just how much less noise comes from a battery powered product. In many cases, you can talk to another individual standing by while using your equipment and you can converse just fine. The vibration also seems to be significantly less than a gas product. And guess what? No fumes in your face either!

3) Noisy Operation: BE SURE TO WEAR HEARING PROTECTION WHILE USING GAS POWERED EQUIPMENT OR YOU MIGHT LOSE YOUR HEARING. Gas engines are generally just plain loud.

4) Light Weight: In many cases battery products are much lighter to carry or push then gas powered units. Let’s take the Hedge Trimmer for example. The lightest EGO Hedge trimmer with the battery is 9 lbs. The lightest Stihl gas hedge trimmer is 10.4 lbs. That means in this case the battery hedge trimmer is 13% lighter than the gas which makes a big difference when handling it for an hour or more.

4) Heavy: Another example would be that one of the lightest Honda self propelled lawn mowers I could find is 79 lbs. Almost any EGO self propelled model is 55 lbs or less. That is another big difference especially when mowing hills or turning a lot.

5) Go Green: Keep the environment clean!

5) Fumes: Dirty fumes, smelly fumes and more ugly fumes.
